I am using Power GEOPAK 08.11.07.615, I know its technically GEOPAK but this is a MicroStation function. Sometimes when I access a file, levels will not show up in the reference file even though they were there when first attached and the level display shows it being toggled on? I have to detach the reference and then reattach then the levels shows up. Any idea as to why this is happening?
Hello Dale,
Strange one. Have you checked if the levels are on for View Display and Global Display in the Level Display dialog?
Regards,
yes I did check and they are both displayed. It reappears when I detach and reattach so I wouldn't imagine that that would be the problem. It wouldn't have anything to do with setting the level display option to Never would it?
I don't think so. Do any of the elements in the reference show, as in, Is it just certain levels or all levels in the reference? Can you reproduce the issue consistently, would you be able to post example files with the issue by any chance?
its inconsistent. it looks like all levels are displaying properly. it was just by accident that I noticed one level was not displaying when the level manager said otherwise, who knows if other levels are not displaying. If/when it happens again I will post the file.
Try this (could be a large Level Table)
1.) Go into the file(s)
2.) Go to the pull-down menu File > Compress Options
3.) Turn Off all the options and do a Compress.
4.) Completely Exit the software
5.) Re-open the file and see if you are still having the issue.
You may need to do this in the Reference files too.
In (Ss3) this is an option in the Compress Options. I have seen this actually lock someone out of a file in an earlier version
You still need to do a Compress (File > Compress) occasionally. The Workspace > Preferences > Operation - The setting "Compress File On Exit" will not fix the Large Level Tables in files only the "Compress" from the "File" pull-down will.
I Hope This Helps Someone Reading This! (Intergraph>PseudoStation>MicroStation user since 1980's)
Long shot here but if they are 3d could it be a display depth issue?
The file is 2d David. Next time it happens I will try the suggested fixes. Thanks everyone.
