I don't know if this is a bug or a setting or something that can be changed.
in V8i version 08.11.0517 I could create new layers and set the name to something like xx-yy-zzz however in V8i 08.11.09.459 I cannot. If I open a file created in the earlier version I can alter the name of a layer with a hyphen but cannot create a new layer with hyphen.

Not sure what has happened, it is working OK today.
Maybe the reboot or the weekend break has sorted it out - I'm not beyond admitting this could be finger trouble, last week was a tough one!
