Hello, 
 I would like to know little bit more about fonts and rsc files. Therefore, I have some specific questions: Does the Font names always has the same font numbers? Can there be a situation where the same font name has different font number? When can such situation arise? How can I make my own rsc file? 
 Why is ther different RSC file in RSC library?

I have been using M-Sta for many years and have actually created fonts and libraries 
 Back in the 1980's there were no TT Fonts. Users were given a set of fonts that were not that good looking or acceptable so users were allowed to create fonts by drawing them, storing them in a cell library with different Octal #'s and creating resources from them. Users would also add any special characters needed in their operation replacing certain keys with those characters. Time went on and TT Fonts came out and Bentley allowed the users to Import any TT Fonts the user wanted into their resource. Bentley maintained a certain set of generic fonts in the "font.rsc" that they supplied with the software. I have seen some of our clients modified the "font.rsc" supplied by Bentley. 
 Does the Font names always has the same font numbers? NO Because different users developed them. 
 Can there be a situation where the same font name has different font number? YES Users didn't worry about the Name = # except that they created their own fonts assigned to certain # and didn't want to override them. 
 When can such situation arise? It arises all the time whenever you have a resource from a different client. 
 How can I make my own rsc file? Bentley is pushing the use of TT Fonts instead of .rsc fonts. Bentley no longer gives the general user the ability to create rsc fonts but allows the users to manage what they already have. 
 Why is there different RSC file in RSC library? Bentley supplies certain generic resource fonts with the software "font.rsc & internat.rsc". If you have additional .rsc files they probably came from other sources. Remember that M-Sta Custom Line Styles are also .rsc files. You can open them with Notepad and you can generally tell whether it is a Font or Line Style resource.

It is possible that a font name could be assigned to a different number. This typically occurs when a third party as created/edited the resource file and importing fonts for there specific needs and then the designs are passed on without supplying the edited resource files.
