How to change several normal cells to shared cells?

Question

I'm making some plans for supports on piping instalattion, so this pieces are the same and are too many, by end, i would get a file around 168 MB (just the supports). Is there any way to convert/change regular normal cells into shared cells? I follow a procedure thru exporting to DWG and the importing again, unfortunaly i get a bad result like the one in the attachment. 
 
 I have several files like this one that I have to merge together with the pipes and some other information plus the paper spaces, in one test, I get a DGN file of about 768 MB, and that will be for one instalattion (building), that it is why I need to be shared cells. Plus, when using the precedure of DWG Export, change the scale of the shared cells to 10 times (Original DGN: Main Units=Meters, auxiliary units=mm)

cant one just open the place cell dialog tool and turn on use shared cells then use cell replace command which would replace all the cells in the active file with shared cells...???? 
 I dont think you have to create a shared cell first its just a setting option on how the cell is used when placed...

I think you were on the right track with what you tried first. You just need to refine the process a bit. It sounds complicated but I can do it in about 10 minutes. Units is a separate issue and there are setting that should fix that. 
 Part of the problem is the 3D geometry. To eliminate that I would try a proxy cell method. 
 1. Create a simple cell. This could be a circle, line or shape. Doesn't really matter just one element is all that is needed. 
 Name it "ProxyA". 
 2. You may want to isolate all your hangers into a separate model as we are going to do this thru DWG. Now do a global cell find and replace of MyHangerCell with ProxyA. 
 3. Save as DWG. ProxyA should be converted to a block. (shared cells). 
 4. Now Save the DWG back as a DGN. ProxyA is now a shared cell in the DGN. 
 5. Do a global cell find and replace of ProxyA with MyHangerCell. MyHangerCell is now a shared cell. 
 6. Merger the model back into your master file.
