Hello,
I am new to Microstation V8i SS2.
I am trying to move a line so the beginning point of the line is set at 0,0,0 point in my model. I have selected the line, selected move, selected the endpoint of line as base point, then typed 0,0,0 into accudraw at bottom of screen. But the line does not move to that location. How do I move this line, and is there a key-in to accomplish this?
press F11-> press"m"
at Data Point Keyin type whatever co-ordinate you want.
Is there a way to "ID" a point on the screen to know its location?
An easy method of moving an element to a specific location would be to use the keyin XY= or POINT ABSOLUTE
In this case you would snap to the point on the line you wanted to move to 0,0,0.
Then keyin XY=0,0,0, and accept the move.
Further information regarding this and other keyins can be found in the Help Documentation.

Turning on Running Coordinates from the Status bar may also be useful. For more information, see the Help Contents for the Status Bar
Regards,
look up tentative in help, out of the box left and right to ogether are the old tentative ( I personally prefer middle button) if you use tentative snap on an element it will give you the cartesian coordiantes in the message center lower left of screen also select an element and information tool or right mouse button properties is like the acad LIST and will list all the coordinates start finish and other vertices... etc
