I was thinking maybe there might be a command where you could click on a text then click on a line and it would rotate the text automatic parallel to the line or something

RE: Is there away to rotate text to be parallel to a given line

tried it and it worked great (with a couple less clicks yes), thank you!

RE: Is there away to rotate text to be parallel to a given line

That is the correct program. I've used it and found it to be useful. There may be a few quirks if I remeber correctly but I am not able to right such a program so it's 100% better than nothing. I do prefer and encourage the use of the accudraw method. You do not need to open any new dialogs or start another tool to complete the function. If you need to rotate a lot of text or other elemnts the same analize element is the way to go.

RE: Is there away to rotate text to be parallel to a given line

i think i might of found in this link, going to give it a try:

There are 3 ways I can think of right now. One is the download and use Active Angle Assistant. Not sure where to find it or of it is still available. 2- you can use the new Element Info/Analyze Element tool to select the line and see what angle is reported. Then select the text and set it to the same rotation (this works for selection sets also). 3 Use Accudraw in conjunction with Rotate Element by 3 points. Start the Rotate Element tool and change tool settings to 3 point. Select the text and snap to the first point. Set snap to Nearest and select second point on text (ie upper left of text then upper right of text). Now make sure Accudraw has focus and type RE (rotate Accudraw to selected element) and click on the line to rotate to (Accudraw compass should rotate to the element) Then rotate the text until Accudraw locks to the correct axis and data point to place text.

RE: Is there away to rotate text to be parallel to a given line

oh i found it, go to workspace->pref->input and change pointer size to "full view"
