I have one user who is on a machine which also has AutoCAD installed. When looking at his Level Display, he has "Viewport Display" whereas all other users have "View Display". Since "Viewports" are a function of AutoCAD, I can only assume the USTA has linked to work with ACAD. The issue is, this changes how he interacts with levels and how they turn on and off, primarily with references. One main issue is that he has to force the levels to synchronize with the reference, but changes to the base reference cannot be simply turned on or off. He has to sync, and then he goes through the list of levels, turning on and off those he wants. But when a change occurs in the base reference, he has to sync again and go through the levels again. This is slowing him down. Plus, he's a recent user of USTA, so his learning curve is degraded.
How do I get his USTA to behave the same as the rest of the office?
EDIT: Correction; it said "Viewport Freeze" and not "Viewport Freeze"... see my found fix, below.
the level display level manager shows me "defpoints" as a level name this is definatley and ex autocad file ..
I dont see anything called view port display so we need screen shots of what your seeing to call it view port display inparticular the view name tab .. also the screen shot of what the other users see for the same file ..
other wise upload the file...
are you sure your not talking about the ref manager it can have saved views from acad called viewports as their names...

Lorys,
Thanks for the help. I was mistaken in my original post. See edit, above. The "Viewport Display" was actually "Viewport Freeze". See the previously attached screenshot (note the pulldown at the top of the Level Display tool window).
As for "Defpoints", we added that as a standard level for those people familiar with AutoCAD in our office. It is treated as a non-plotting level in our office standards.
FYI. I found the solution. See the "MS_Workmode" answer above.
Thanks again.
whats wrong with a level called NonPlotting
Lory,
We added Defpoints to Microstation because the majority of our hires are familiar with AutoCAD. Obviously, we could make additional non-plotting levels.
Thanks again for the help.
