which configuration variable should I set to have defaults for:
For sheet file definitions, I tried to set in Workspace standards:MS_SHEETMODELSEED = $(_USTN_SITE)Ogolne/seed/SABEL_modelsy.dgn(expands to correct value), but it's not working as expected (after "Create new model", no seed file is chosen).
Expected behaviour:

How can you tell your seed file is not chosen?
I mean that after I choose "Create new model", I have to click on magnifying glass icon and manually choose file that is already set by MS_SHEETMODELSEED variable (it should be done automatically, at least I think so).
Also I have MS_SEEDFILES set and it works OK (after click on magnifying glass icon I am in first directory from the MS_SEEDFILES list).

Have you tried closing MicroStation and re-starting the program? If you have MS_SHEETMODELSEED defined this field should be populated.
If you still don't see it defined in the field, create a debug file and attach the msdebug file to your reply.

Yes, I have tried to restart both MS and the machine.
Look at debug file attached. I tried to lock the variable just in case, but it didn't help.
Please provide the following file:
M:\Workspace_SABEL\Standards\Ogolne\seed\SABEL_modelsy.dgn
I want to point to this file from a local site configuration file to see if the same problem occurs.
