In Reference Manager, Level Manager, and Level Display dialogues, when selecting an item with one click of the left mouse button and then moving mouse away, Microstation reacts as if the mouse button is still pressed and will select everything in the list of levels or references while the mouse passes over the items. This is does not happen with every click, but does more often than not. It’s especially troublesome when switching levels off as it can inadvertently switch off all the levels, leaving the user trying to remember what the previous level display setting were.
Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?
There are a number of things that I can think of that may affect the operation here.
Any other information you could supply to assist with the investigation of your issue would be helpful. You might like to supply the System Info which can be found under the menu in MicroStation:
> Help > About MicroStation > System Info...
The system information dialog allows you to Export to a text File which may be helpful in identifying what you have on your system.

Thanks for your reply Andrew.
I'm running MicroStation V8i SS3 - Version 08.11.09.459 on Windows 7.
We have had a look at the graphics card and mouse drivers everything seems to be up to date and the problem also happens on different workstations with different graphics cards and mice as well. Again though everytinhg seems to be up to date.
For what it's worth, this problem is not exclusive to the Melbourne office in my organisation, I have had discussions with CAD manager colleages in Sydney, they have experienced the same problems. I have also spoken with CAD managers in Melbourne with other organisations, and they have experienced the same problems too, but no one has been able to find a solution yet.
I posted on here to see how many other people / organisations have experienced simillar problems and if there are any known solutions.
I also found this page on the MicroStation Wiki;
communities.bentley.com/.../9362.mouse-cursor-lag.aspx
I have tried everything suggested here and still experiencing the problem.
Maybe a longshot, but if you go to Workspace > Preferences, under the Input category, what do you have these options set to?
Do you see any difference in behavior if you change those?
Thanks for your reply Phil, unfortuately changin those settings didn't make any difference.
The original settings were as you have in the image above; click sesitivity - normal and hold delay - 10. I tried a variety of combinations and still found the same intermittent problem.
One thing I did notice today was that having disabled the windows visual effects by right clicking on the microstation shortcut and accessing the properties and compatibility tabs, then ticking the "Disable visual themes" and "Disabel desktop composition", some of my toolbars and my microstation preferences dialog window were displaying as jumbled up text. Unticking those options has sorted that issue. So although this was a suggested solution for "mouse cursor lag" it appeared to introduce a different problem, so I suspect the two are unrelated.
Another suggestion that I got elsewhere was that perhaps there is microstation coding racing against other bits of windows coding, it could be that micostation gets bogged down temporarily and reads mouse events out of sequence, for example if the user input is; mouse down > mouse up > mouse move, microstation might be reading that as; mouse down > mouse moves > mouse up. Unfortuantely I didn't get any suggestions for a solution.
