Hi, I have Microstation Version 05.07.01.14 windows x86 and I have to connect it to a database oracle 9i. how can I do this? What I need?
Thank u in advance,
I have Microstation Version 05.07.01.14 windows x86 and I have to connect it to a database Oracle 9i.
That's a rather
old version of MicroStation.
As far as I can make out, Oracle 9i was introduced in about 2001.
You're asking whether a 12-year old MicroStation SE can connect to an 8-year old Oracle release, but without using ODBC.
In other words, you want a native Oracle connection.

Hi! I have a useful workspace to keep some GIS Data (Microstation SE). All the elements have Oracle Data Linkage (when DB was Oracle 7). But we're migrating to Oracle 9i. We want to keep the MDL's and the Workspace working to use and update the DGN's files. How do I connect to Oracle 9i?. Do I have to change the Oracle Data Linkage to ODBC Data Linkage? and change the MDL's in order to connect using ODBC?. Thanks!!
You're asking the same question, with minor differences. MicroStation SE (v5.7) dates from 1997 (see this History of MicroStation); Oracle 9i from 2001. Can one technical product be compatible with another technical product four years younger? Probably not.

It might work. Let us know how it goes!
Yes. I though it wasn't incompatible due to the dates (1997-2001). My hope was there's any Bentley "patch" or DLL's to make it work. But... is not... I'll try with ODBC. By the way, using ODBC drivers. Can I write and read Oracle Data Linkages or not?. I'm trying to minimize the changes.
