We have a lot of users still using Microstation J for large road design projects. These files have about 20 reference files atached and we use a pen table to with different instances of top.* TOP.* TOPO etc. that the users can rename a reference file logical by adding this to the front of the Logical name and get different plot files with gray scale applied to the specified file. The problem is the TEXT is not coming out gray, even in the plot preview. All elements types and classes are selected to be screened back. What other optins do I have to get this to work for out PDF output? I have attached a zip file with the Pen Table and a Sample PDF file.Any of the text on the left side of center of the plot that is solid is in a reference file and should be gray or screened.
have you tried level colour overrides at the user ref file attachement level and enabled the override in the pentable?

I believe you have a couple of problems. Ii doon't believe thaJ will properly resolve the "." in the logical names and you keep selecting the text elements in your various statements thus changing them from one setting to another. Select the text element only one time and see what happens for you.
