Raster Manager = selected element??

I noticed that when I highlight a raster file's name in Raster Manager (in order to turn on/off its display, for instance) it becomes part of a selection set.  It stays selected even after closing Raster Manager.  More times than I care to remember I have then clicked a tool to use (delete, move copy, etc) and accidentally preformed this operation on the raster image itself.  Why does the raster become part of a selection set just by highlighting its name?  This is not the same behavior as normal reference files.  It is very confusing, and it is not the same behavior as in V8 2004 (I can't speak for XM).  Is there a way to turn off this behavior?

  • Hi Josh,

This is the behavior of Raster Manager since XM.   When a raster is selected in the Raster Manager dialog box, it becomes selected in the view as well.  There is a setting to disable the Delete tool on raster attachments.  It is in the Preferences dialog under Raster Manager.
