Is it possible to display active View or Zoom scale of current design file via keyin?
In some products it is called Map Scale.
I think Microstation calls it as Zoom Scale like in Microstation Powerdraft for Mapping.
When you zoom in/out, scale for map changes like 1:5000,1:7500 or 1:1000 etc.
Map Scale,View Scale, Display Scale or Zoom Scale all of them have similar meanings for me :)
I would like to say that I like a lot beta version of Microstation V8i new features.(MicroStation_08.11.07.58)
All I need is levels display on/off according to Zoom Scale that I set somewhere in Level Manager.
There are some levels I dont want them to be displayed on when I zoom out far enough(1:20000) and there are some levels that I want them to be displayed when I zoom in close enough(1:1000).
We all use only Microstation in my company. Will it be possible in future releases of Microstation V8i ?
I dont want to use Bentley map for only architectural drawings. Bentley Map is for GIS applications.
On the other hand, I have a lot of very complex drawings and I want to see main structures of these drawings first and then see the details when I scroll the mouse wheel.
I believe that, If I had min and max zoom scales for each level at least, it would be so beneficial for me. As a suggestion min and max zoom scales can be added in to Level Manager.
I think it can facilitate refresh speed of the screen and increase performance of the MStation.
What if you set up some Saved Views?
Zoom out to where you want it, set the levels you want, and save view. Repeat for different zoom distances. Just a thought.
If I was asking for microstation to open Esri SHP files last week, you'd advise me using Bentley Map instead.
But today, I can open SHP files using only Microstation V8i.
I still beleive Bentley will add our request about Zoom Scale for levels to Microstation in next releases.
That will be inevitable result for all CAD softwares.(some are already added)
I will have no more thread about this topic.
What version of Microstation V8i are you using to open Esri SHP files? I have 08.11.05.17 and can't open them.
