Design File Settings are rather model settings

  • As It appears that the Bentley development puts a great deal of brain power into USABILITY I would greatly appreciate if you could consider this.

A couple of settings in File>Settings>Design File are rather Model specific settings, right? Every model can have different settings for Working Units and the Display/Drafting-Raster.

1. The "Display"-Raster: I would like to see that adressed in a way that e.g. the (displayable) Drafting-Raster (value)-setting is side by side with the (invisible) "Unit"-Raster. That would make sense to me in the "Locks"- dialog - especially as the switch for the "raster lock" is already there.

2.The working units are also kind of awkward in the file settings dialog. When you switch to a different model you have often different master and Sub Units.

(That is one of the things that are hard to explain to a new user and even after years of usage kind of a reoccuring annoyance)

Besides the setting in the Extras>Drawing scale it would make sense to see the setting in the model dialog. That would also give you an overview of the different settings and quickly check if they are right. (Now that I visualize this the raster settings may also be good to be listed in the models dialog tabular columns?)
