Help with Microstation 95 installed on Windows 7

We have Microstation 95 .dgn files that are generated using VeriBest95 that is a printed circuit board design software.  When I open the 95 in V8i all the holes in the board (which are open circles) translate to letters.

We have tried changing the font of the letters (holes) but still no luck to get back to circles.

Any advice?  Can we install 95 on Windows 7

Thanks in advance

  • MS 95 is V7 DGN format.  MSV8 and newer uses V8 DGN format.

You can set up a excel spreadsheet to map levels fonts etc. when translating V7 to V8 dgns.

Sounds like your open circles are a symbol from a particular font. Probably not "O"s as they aren't perfect circles.
Probably an old Microstation font that  is perculiar to VeriBest95.

Ask them for a copy of the FONT used and transfer it to your V8i workspace.   Might need updating to a V8i font.

    What letter do you get?

You could try to find what the ascii number is for the symbol was used and then do text replace  using ascii numbers to use a similar MS V8i symbol.

    eg. \010 is LineFeed

I'm betting VeriBest created their own font and have customised characters  for many electronic symbols.
Probably best to transfer the missing VeriBest FONT.
