Add settings to the Change Dimension Dialog

I'd like to suggest a Change Dimension dialog more in line with the Change Text Attributes dialog - with a number of "popular' options that can be set, independently of dimension style. Very often, in the course of revising a detail, I need to change one or two dimension settings. Currently, this can be a cumbersome process.

Some suggestions for settings that could be changed via this dialog:

Terminator position (Inside, Outside, Moves First, etc)
Secondary units (On/Off)
Extension Lines (On/Off/Start/End)

These are the main items that I need to switch On or Off (or around) while I'm detailing. I'm sure other people have more.

I'd just like to see the option to change just the setting I want to change, without having to open and tab through the whole Dimension Styles dialog.

  • Hi Mary,  This type of request is/was always interesting for me as what are "the popular" options? The way the command works now is that if you open the dimension style dialog you have access to all of the settings not just a predetermined subset which may or may not be the ones you need. Set the style and setting over rides you want then change the dimension element, don't save the style changes.

I guess I am interested in what "the popular" settings to change are?

  • I'd like to have the option to switch between 0, 1 or 2 decimal places within dimension chains. Also switching single dimension texts back to center after having moved them manually instead of having to redraw them, especially if they're in a dimension chain.
