Connect Advisor install option

HI All

I have raised this with Bentley and got a reply that there is no scope to get this added. So I thought maybe the power of the user base may help.

I want an option to include or not the CONNECT Advisor on installation. I have mocked up and image of what I would like.

I have even stated to Bentley that by default the option should be on and it is down to the user, CAD administrators to turn it OFF if they do not want it.

I agree, the Advisor should be an optional installation component. I wouldn't mind as much if turning it off (don't launch) in the Advisor Settings dialog actually worked, but it doesn't. It is a pain to have to disable it in MicroStation configuration.

Do you mean that .lyt file and just put Selected="no" instead of "yes" in the BentleyAdvisor line?

Hi Ian,
I totally agree--the Advisor is useless and we should have to option to not install it.

If you make a deployment package, you can manually modify the text file to omit it.
