Nevermind it is working for connect now
nevermind it is working now
I'm using explorer everything downloads ok but when i try on load it in connect i get that message
I am able to download steel.zip using the button on the top of this page without any problem.
What web browser and with what security setting do you use? The message you mentioned is probably not created by BE Communities web, but maybe by your browser or OS because of too restrictive security setting?
steel.zip is just a plain zip file containing some files including .dll (which is not signed).
Also after clicking download on the top of this forum all I get is a message saying 'STEEL' is not signed. ???
For the structural department I am in we really need this STEEL.ma to work for CONNECT
I need some assistance to where I can find and download the updated CONNECT version of the STEEL.ma file for Microstaion CONNECT Edition?, Obviously the V8i version is not compatible with CONNECT, but after going through some other forums here from 5 months ago It seems that the STEEL.ma file is now available to download for CONNECT...but where?
Thank you, Andrew. I will have a look at the Microstation Forum as well as that other discussion.
The Steel Utility was not designed to operate in PowerDraft CONNECT Edition. It is something that is being considered by our development team.
I would suggest posting your questions relating to this product to the MicroStation Forum as comments made against items like this are not monitored as readily.
Does Steel work with Powerdraft Connect edition? Getting this to work is the only thing keeping us on v8i.
I fixed this a couple of years ago for our internal use. It works with UNC paths. I just included the dll and ma in the zip.
Any plans to investigate the inability of the STEEL app to use UNC path names?
First - Thanks for Finally making this available (It works as described)
Now I'm probably pushing my luck but there were (2) versions of the Steel MDL (Steel.ma -which is now available for Connect Edition & SteelV8 which was actually an older better version than the Steel.ma)
Current Version looks like this:
Older version looks like:
I've included old associated files.SteelV8.zip
I also was hoping the STEEL app would be updated to allow a UNC data file location. The earlier version is parsing the path for a drive letter, which causes a problem when there is no drive (\\path\path...).
Hi, you can download the files by clicking "Download" button at the top right of this page. You will need to sign-in to your Bentley account to see this button and be able to download.
Hope this helps.
where i can download steel.ma
please send the link
please provide steel.ma
please let me know ...or provide steel.ma for connect edition
Hi Bruce, we will investigate this and get back to you here when we know more.
Just loaded the "updated" version. I see an issue (not sure if it was there before). I cannot get the tables to be read when you specify a UNC path for "STEEL_TBL". It does work with a drive letter.
Thank you for this! I downloaded it and it appears to be working as good as ever. I have used it for over 20 years and it has saved me many hours of drawing time.
Hi Frank, we have added the set elevation tools of civtools to MicroStation CONNECT Edition but we haven't ported the old standalone mdl. Could you tell me which functionalities of civtools do you use?
Can anyone tell me if CIVTOOLS.MA has also been upgraded for CONNECT. We've been using it for approximately 20 years and is a very important part of what we do. See the info box below:
Marco - thank you very much! It works! Can you tell me if CIVTOOLS.MA has also been upgraded for CONNECT. We've been using it for approximately 20 years and is a very important part of what we do.
The correct CONNECT Edition version of the Steel app has now been uploaded.
doesn't work it says its the old version of the ma when run in CE 13
