How do I fix this?

My last topic may have been too tainted with my own misguided efforts to elicit helpful suggestions, so I'm backing up a bit and taking another stab at it.

I'm using the pdf.plt driver that comes with Microstation, version 8.5.2.70.  Here's an image that shows my problem:

How can I force the grey lines to be behind the black text and black lines?  I tried using Priority in a pen table, but it did not work.

  • Adam,

I would work with what you see in the view, reference file update sequence and Element>Bring to front to get it looking correct in the view. Then print. Don't know if that will work or not.

  • Question:  Does it print like this if you print to a printer?

If answer is NO:  Keep all the settings the same as if you were going to print to that printer, but in the printer dialog box choose File>Select Windows Printer.  And if you have the option to select PDF995, do so.  Then print the file.  It should then ask you to save the pdf some where.  If you don't have PDF995, I believe it is a free shareware printer driver online.

    I hope this is helpful.

  • 1. in ustn have you tried selecting the text  and use bring to front from the edit?

    2. Is text on its one level ? is grey lines on own levl, is black lines on own level?

    3. what sequence were they drawn or placed ? If the Text was last then it is the last thing printed on top..

    4. use the power selector to select the lines and text now use the power selector to deselect any thing you want sent to the back and only leave things you want selected to be in fron selected.... then use the edit> bring to front to put the elements you want ontop..

or use the wset add;wset drop instead of the bring to front... test print to paper.. if works on paper it should work in pdf.plt..

oooh I just remembered is it 3d file take a look  at the isometric view and see if the objects are on different elevations not

ie all z=0 if not all z=0 then down load modz.ma I posted  here today  do a search and use that to force elements to z=0 without changing your 3d file to 2d.. then do alll the reordering level data as above.... this was a tricky one that fooled me a while back and it turned out to be the elevations thing  as when in plan view it looks like yours and  no changes had any effect with the bring to front...

    Sorted!

  • Locate text,

    Key in 'Order Element Front'

    Data point

Update the Active, or all View(s)

Unless it's a 3D Model then modify the Z-Value to a higher value...

If not then it must be another issue...

  • I have had a similar problem w/ 08.05.02.70. My problem was resolved by a choosing Full Color Mode.
