pen table

Maybe a little more info would help us along. What are you trying to achieve and if you're editing you plt file, do you really need to use a pentable?

try  control  p  and look what the print dialog says.. see attached here my printer.plt  to my windows printer has no pentable atttached or defined .... but inside my  printer.plt  here is  below what it  has

 ; Substitute the name of a pentable file to be loaded when this driver is selected
;pentable=\dir\file.tbl

 note the (;) semicolon in front this means the code is commented out and not read hence  no pentable is assigned here.. thisis so I can attach at will  or by  any time I want  inside the print dialog any particular pentable I want just one off prints..

Now to make a new one  you just  from the  print dialog> pentable >new this lets you make a new blank one and  lets you open it to start defining stuff the way you want... such as text substutition for file naname,  username, scale , plot date etc
