Hello:
while trying to fix a problem with my printer, I accidentally removed the Date and Time stamp from my drawings. I tried going through the Pen Table using the "Step-by-Step Guide for Advanced Pen Table Text Substitution" offered by someone else but got a little confused. Is there another way to restore them? Thanks.

Hard to pinpoint anything specific given the details presented, but one place to check is (in the Print dialog) going to Settings > Print Attributes... and see if the Print Border toggle is disabled.
If that is enabled, could you identify whether you are Batch Printing or not and possibly attach the PLT file that you are using?
when you hit control p for print a dialog pops up for the printer.. if you study theis you should be able to see which printerfile.plt your using and if a pentablefile.tbl is being used..
here need to have print border text tick on but inside the printer file.plt need to be changed too.
Now that you know which printerfile.plt is being used you can open it with a text editor or thru ustn printer dialog edit printer
you should see the following if not copy into your printerfile .plt file that your usig
================================
; Remove this record if no border is desired. ; Refer to the documentation for available border qualifiers. border /time /filename /text_height=0.35
========================================
this little bit of code will put into the border date time & file name
you can find out more about how to use this in the help>printing guide >printer driver syntax
===============================================================
However the best way is to set a pentable from your printerfile.plt
in which you have set text substution to use $FILEL$ and $DATE$ AND $TIME$
then if you place these 3 pieces of text into a drawing sheet even if its a reference file then printing using the print function will automaticaly substitute the text ...
SEE MY ATTACHED pic of how to add the data from a pentable etc using text substitution
