If i try to batch print the current drawing im in it will come up with the "drawing is in use, do you want to open in read only". If i click yes it sends me to a "read only" version of the dgn and if i click no it closes all drawing windows and i have to close and re open. Any ideas what is causing this? (i dont remember having this problem in the past)
Any help would be great.
Cheers

Thanks for some input guys, The only problem im having is that after the batch print sequence has finished it tells me that my current drawing is in use and i have to hit cancel then open my drawing again. I dont ever remember this happening in the past. The reason i use the batch print is for an auto print function that will print any drawing to either pdf or A3 with a single click. Less clicks involved the more efficently i can use the guys here.
is there anyway to find out what variables the batch print uses? maybe i have overridden something not allowing it to close the first drawing before it starts.
Thanks again.
Hi Sean,
I has happened to me afew times but I never really paid much attention as its in a batch print I want to print.. but as I said why use batch print on a single selection that happens to be the active or open file...but I've never got it closing all the open sessions ...

Hi Dave,
I'm still doing a fair bit on 2004 and haven't come across this at all. Just did a test to make sure I'm not going mad and didn't get an error. Does this happen all the time with any file you have open?
This is normal behavior batch printing is using read only even when you send 10 files and the one your in is not the one you want bactch printed it stll opens the others read only .. its just that if your already open and you just want to batch print just that file then it has to do a read only so that when yor finished printing it can return you to the drawing you were in with out changing and setting or views you may only want during the print ie you turn off some stuff just for printing but will turn it back on before exiting the drawing like not having save setting turned on ...
But why go to the trouble of batch printing just the active file why not place a fence and control p or the print icon ?
