I'm using a Bentley plt driver rather than a Windows print driver. When I send plots to a particular printer, in which in this case it's the HP Z6100PS plotter, the vector lines are plotting transparently, (i.e a red line and blue line when crossed

Re: HP Designjet Z6100PS printing lines transparent

Try changing the Merge setting in the printer to off. The Merge setting controls the treatment of overlapping lines in an image. On the printer, Merge has two settings Off and On.

If Merge is On, the colors of two lines are merged where they cross.

If Merge is Off, only the color of the top line is printed where the lines cross.

From the front panel of the HP Z6100ps printer chose the icon that looks like a small printer, then select Printing preferences > HP-GL/2 options > Enable merge > Off

What 8-digit version (i.e. v##.##.##.##) of MicroStation are you using?
