Plotting the grid.

Can anyone help with printing the grid, I am sure this was possible on earlier versions of MicroStation but can't find it in V8.

  • Hmmm... still not quite sure what you mean. Could you post a low-res screen shot that demonstrates what you are looking for? TIA

  • the grid displayed in view attributes grids toggle are not  printable  elements.

you or your user needs to make a  reference  file in which they have  drawn objects in a  grid pattern using the  array tool then attach this grid.dgn as a  reference file  they can then draw in the active file and use  snaps to snap to the  grid.dgn file objects and they  will be printable with the  reference file turned on... you can also make the  grid.dgn file to be  multimodel so as to have  the different  grid spacinings ie 5mm, 10mm etc  for each model.

I would also make this the  same  size as  your  biggest  sheet file coverage so you can attach it  by  top instead of world coincedent so you can place  it roughly where you want to start drawing.
