Batch plotting has worked fine, but, about two weeks ago, started loosing specifications. Able to create new specifications, but they will only work for that session in Microstation. I'm at a complete loss. Any ideas to fix problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

I set batchplt.spc to read-only for this very purpose. I generally define ALL necessary printers and then set the file to read-only so that users don't make permanent shanges to the file. Temporary changes are sill possible to allow knowledgeable users to make special configuration.

My "data" folder (under "C:\Program Files\Bentley\Workspace\System") is set to "Read-only," and I can't change it at my level; however, I'm not even sure if this has anything to do with it, considering that RG is saying that he specifically sets his batchplt.spc to "Read-only."
Anyway, I heard that these batchplot files do get corrupt from time to time, so I'm going to try starting over with (what I think is) a fresh, out-of-the-box copy of batchplt.spc, which a survey guy here gave me, who doesn't use batch plotting in V8, at all. So...I'm hoping.
I also heard that V8i has done away with batch plotting, so this problem will become moot for me in a couple of weeks, since our office is moving to V8i from V8. Still, I have a project to plot in the meanwhile, so batchplotting would be nice.
I'm sorry that I took so long to get back here, but you know how it can get at work :-)
Hennekes: I also heard that V8i has done away with batch plotting,
It is still in there 8.11.07.171., although on the way out.

8.11.07.171 must be XM, which we never switched to here, mainly because our primary client, NCDOT, never did.
(BTW, that "fresh-out-of-the-box" batchplt.spc experiment, which I had mentioned to MW, didn't work...so I'm still looking for a solution. Any ideas why Microstation V8 is losing the specifications? Is there a file that points to the batchplt.spc file in C:\Program Files\Bentley\Workspace\System\data\ that I can look at to troubleshoot the problem?)
Thanks,
John Hennekes
Hennekes: 8.11.07.171 must be XM,
8.11.07.171 is the current / most recent SELECT supported version MicroStation V8i SELECTseries 1.
Are you certain you are using the copy in C:\Program Files\Bentley\Workspace\System\data\? What is MS_BATCHPLT_SPECS set to on your system?
