Plotting to PDF Locking up Session

Did anything change on the computer (or network) about the time that this started? Could you provide the PDF.PLT you are using? Is this happening at the same time every time? When during the print process is it happening (e.g. before the print dialog opens, after clicking the print button, etc.)?

As far as I know, nothing changed. If it did, I would have been the one to change it and I was too busy in production to be tinkering around.

The Driver files are in the attached Zip File. There is a main PLT file and in the bottom of it are three %include statements, so there are three *.inc files. I did edit one of those to change the linecap setting because it was closing up gaps in linestyles. Apparently, the values used in can these vary by driver, so in reality, you cannot use the same values for all drivers, which is what these are setup to do.

That gets us to the third and fourth question by Phil - Yes, it happens at the same place on any file. I can see the preview, I can open the large preview window. I can update either preview. When I press the plot button, I get to select a folder and filename for the PDF is a dialog box. When I press the OK button, the message center lists "Creating Print File" and the dialog box begins to clear, but never does. I have the MDL dialog boxes enabled right now, but it is almost identical when using Windows dialog boxes.

One thought has come to mind - what does MicroStation use to locate the MDL applications that is uses as drivers? Could it be seeing a different mdl driver that is causing the hangup?

I might try reinstalling MicroStation. On occasion I have had random files become corrupted - I'm wondering if that is what is causing this.

Status Update - I noticed that there is a newer version of 2004 edition - 8.05.02.70. So I removed the current version and installed the newer version. After that, I got an Abort, Retry, Ignore dialog. So I did a repair of the new install. and....

I just created a PDF without locking up. I'm good to go.
