I know that I can force Microstation to print to a certain filename / location with:
default_outFile /auto_overwrite = "C:\TEMP\$(basename(_DGNFILE)).pdf"
But what if I want the printer icon to open to a specific folder and then allow me to name the file?
Could I use the same : default_outFiel/auto_overwrite and just leave out the file name? Or does that screw things up?
In the following urls the following conventions are "generally" used:
00000 = the Page #, which is not set anywhere but in the DGN name (ie, 00233sd.dgn = Storm Drainage #233).
xx = Discipline (sd=Storm Drainage / Stormwater, ba = Base, wa = Water, etc.)
Here are the paths for STORM prints (Storm Drainage / Stormwater)
CGM : H:\scratch\07plots\storm\sd-next-distro\CGM\00000xx.dgn
LRG : H:\scratch\07plots\storm\sd-next-distro\Large\00000xx.lrg
What I would LOVE would be a parser in the PLT file. Then I could parse the filename of the DGN I am printing. Since the variables incorporated by our system are only for system-specific and not user-specific purposes. I have a list of vars, but they point to folder that we (as end users) rarely, if ever, touch.
Does that help?
