NOTICE: Batch Print is leaving the V8i building – PLEASE READ!

With MicroStation V8i, Print Organizer was introduced as the new interface for set printing in MicroStation. Although it is still delivered in both V8i SELECTseries 1 and the upcoming SELECTseries 2 release, Batch Print was removed from the file menu. Today, the Batch Print application can still be accessed through a key-in command ("mdl load batchplt.ma").

However, in the next and subsequent MicroStation releases after V8i SELECTseries 2, Batch Print will be removed from the product and no longer be available.

To assist with the transition from Batch Print, we designed Print Organizer to be a seamless upgrade for Batch Print users.

  • Legacy data created for the Batch Print utility such as pen tables and job set files are supported in Print Organizer.
  • Print Organizer's File > Open menu item can open a print set (.pset) file or a job set (.job) file. When Print Organizer opens a job set file, each corresponding model in the job set is converted to a print definition. The print definition properties are obtained from the print specifications stored in Batch Print's batchplt.spc file. Therefore, it is necessary to have access to the batchplt.spc file when initially opening a job set file in Print Organizer.

Please review Print Organizer in MicroStation V8i SELECTseries 1 or the upcoming SELECTseries 2 release as soon as possible. If Print Organizer does not meet your needs so you can move from Batch Print, please let us know now. You can reply to this announcement and/or send me a direct email at Jo.Wright@Bentley.com.

Thank you!

This is a request to maintain Batch Plot Until further notice.

I have been working with Plotting and Bentley Architecture for more than two years

Plotting is aware of the following issue:

You cannot Plot using Print Organizer Bentley Architecture files

Please do not remove Plotting or Batch Plotting until these issues are resolved.

To date there are multiple issues.

Simply the current MS software is not concurrent and up to date when using fully dynamic and Building View

The presently identified are objects that are created in BA that cannot be plotted

Today we are resolving Memory Leaks with regards to large BA files that cannot be translated nor plotted

    Ustn since 1988
