I am new to Microstation and currently trying to configure a plt file to printer to an Oce 9300. Using a HPGL2 plt file I have set up custom weight strokes for pen thickness. When I use the plt file to print to the 9300 I get no line thickness at all, each line is printed at the same weight. I use the same plt file to send to another printer I do get line definition. Is there something else I need to do? I am currently having to work around this by using a printer.plt file to get any line definition, however I have no control over what paper sizes the users pick doing this so I would really like to get this working using a hpgl2 driver. Sorry if this is confusing but like I said I am new to Microstation and this line weight issue is totally confusing me! :-(
Oh also forgot to mention that Line Weights is on in my print attributes too.
You can make a copy of printer.plt and direct it to the one printer and you can also define only which paper/form sizes that you require.
Yes I am currently using a printer.plt file but as I am specifying line type scales in my plt file I wanted to ensure that the user cannot change the paper size. Using the printer.plt allows me to specify the default paper size (form) but the user still has all the other paper sizes available to choose from in the print dialog box. I thought that using the hpgl2 driver would solve this problem as I can specify the list of paper sizes available thus keeping some sort of order over the line type scales but as I said I am unable to get the weight strokes to work.
You can "specify the list of paper sizes available" in printer.plt as well.
Can you tell me how I can do that? I currently have the following set
; format is:
sysprinter /name="\\manw2k11\pl06" /form="Oce A0 841x1189mm" /fullsheet /orientation=L
The problem is that all the other paper sizes are still listed in the drop down in the print dialog box.
