I am new to Microstation and currently trying to configure a plt file to printer to an Oce 9300. Using a HPGL2 plt file I have set up custom weight strokes for pen thickness. When I use the plt file to print to the 9300 I get no line thickness at all, each line is printed at the same weight. I use the same plt file to send to another printer I do get line definition. Is there something else I need to do? I am currently having to work around this by using a printer.plt file to get any line definition, however I have no control over what paper sizes the users pick doing this so I would really like to get this working using a hpgl2 driver. Sorry if this is confusing but like I said I am new to Microstation and this line weight issue is totally confusing me! :-(
Oh also forgot to mention that Line Weights is on in my print attributes too.
You can make a copy of printer.plt and direct it to the one printer and you can also define only which paper/form sizes that you require.
If you insert a section into the plt file as such (my attached file has this as well):
; ENGLISH resolution and SIZE recordssize=(48,36)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="36x48"size=(42,30)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="30x42"size=(36,24)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="24x36"size=(24,18)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="18x24"size=(22,17)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="17x22"size=(17,11)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="11x17"size=(14,8.5)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="Legal"size=(11,8.5)/num=0/off=(0,0)/name="Letter"resolution(IN)=(0.001666666666666666666667,0.001666666666666666666667) ;600DPI
Thanks for your help but I downloaded your file and made mine the same except in MM with my printer specified and the paper size for my printer that I want visible in the drop down box. The printer seems to be ignoring this as all the other paper sizes I have not listed in the plt file are still showing. Sorry if I am being dumb, I am assuming that by inserting the size records for my printer as above, that I can only show the paper sizes I want the user to be able to select from the print dialog?
Could you post your plt file?
Here is the file
I only have access to V8i now which will not allow me to use your plt file. Maybe someone else could test it in MS V8 2004 or XM for you. From what I could see, it should work fine and only pick the one form size. The only issue I can think of is the size designation/name would need to correspond with a defined form size within the Windows Print Server / Printer Driver.
