Microstation - filepath printing

The filepath at the bottom of the drawing is not printing/displaying full path when the directory path is long. How can we change these settings?

see the attached plt file

  • This is not a V8i printing file, its more like XM  you should be using printer.pltcfg

Secondly the file path is controlled by text substitution feature in the plot settings via a pentable.. even in XM this was done via a pentable in your supplied printer XM file your customised pentable is not named and the default one is commented out.. if you must use the supplied file you will have unstable printing with erratic behavior you need to configure the new printer.pltcfg file and create a pentable and edit the pentable to include text substitution for filepath, user , date , time etc

it works like this you tell the penttable where it sees $FILE$ it is to use the full file path instead..

Then in your drawing or drawing sheet or ref title block there has to be a piece of text such as $FILE$.

  • The plt file you uploaded does not call up a pen table (*.tbl file). If you're not loading one yourself then the text may be coming from the printer driver. Have you checked to see if the windows printer driver is adding the text you're seeing?

  • Problem solved..Thanks for your help Bear.

Yes it was coming from the printer driver.

  • Any time, glad you traced it.
