Microstation V8 Print to PDF with grouped levels?

Hello, Is it possilble to have levels grouped in the PDF printed from microstation? I work for a local goverment, and we have a set of levels for the back of curb, the face of curb, the edge of pavement, the centerline, etc.  These are all pavement layers and we'd like to group them when we print a PDF to put out as a plan to be bid.  One way that I thought of that we could accomplish this is to save the file as a new DGN and use a standard CSV file to convert it to combine the levels.  This does work, but adds a step in the process (although a small one, actually.)  Is there another way to accomplish this grouping?  I"m not particular whether the individual levels are separate,  just trying to be able to turn the entire pavement group on and off at once, instead of having to turn each one on and off individually in the PDF.

Thanks!

  • The only thing that comes to mind from a purely plotting point of view would be the use of a macro assigned in the pen table.  I'm not certain that would work though, since it is part of the element selection process and may be too late.

I would think a batch process to make a new set of "plot files" with the new levels would be the way to go.  If you automate it, the process shouldn't be too much of a burden.
