Microstation XM

I have been working on plans and elevations in XM and I want to plott them out to Phtoshop or illustrator. Does anyone know how I go about this?

As when I have attempted it before I dont select the right drivers or choices.

Cheers

  • For photoshop use the  jpeg.plot

for Illustrator use the pdf.plt  to make pdfs and  use those  in illustrator or use  epsc.plt  thats the  colour encapsulated post script Adobe illustrator will work with those... even hpgl.plt can work I think with illustrator if you set it to make a file..

I have even used a post script printer useing  printer.plt but had to tell the  windows printer for the postscript printer to print to file not paper and this file then is a eps file and illustrator will open that.

  • There are a number of plot files that allow you to print to an image file. jpeg, tif etc. If you have a look at the plot files delivered you should be able to find them easily. Is this what you're after?

  • The drawings are all line drawings, so I have not found the right message to help me yet. If you can help that would be great!!! Cheers
  • Are you trying to produce drawing type plots or more realistic images? If you're after more realistic images, then you need to look more into the rendering option in XM. If you have a search of the forums, there is plenty of good info to help you along.
