3d PDF - Measure in Acrobat Reader 9

I have created a 3d PDF and want to measure some distances in Acrobat reader 9.

The Measure tool is one of many that are only available when "Document rights are enabled".

How do I enable document rights?

regards

Patrick

  • Yes, my response was in reply to Gunnar's second comment.  The measurement feature that will be introduced in the MicroStation V8i SELECT update (associated with the new printer driver configuration property you pointed out) applies to 2D PDF only.

The measurement data is already present in 3D PDF.  However, Adobe prevents the meeasure tool from being used in the free Reader, unless the PDF file's "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" option has been enabled by Acrobat Professional.  Bentley is not authorized to enable that option automatically in the PDF files authored by MicroStation.

  • Andrew,

    Thanks for the clarifications.

I think it would have been a good idea that the measure tools been enabled in Acrobat Reader without the ``Enable Usage Rights In Adobe Reader`` turned on for 2D georeferenced PDF.

    Maybe one day....

    Thanks,

    Mathieu

  • one day....

If you promote this measure function you must be able to activate it within the batch plot process!

Otherwise it is useless in an plot environment where hundreds of plots are created daily.
