jagged/pointed text

I have seen this problem in the past but can't remember a solution. It seems that some users, when plotting to pdf, have the M, W and/or A text come out jagged/pointed. Maybe this is a Acrobat issue as I'm seeing jagged letters change between Version 5 & 8. Can anyone help me out here? Attached pdf, you may have to zoom in quite a bit to see it but on some sheets it's very obvious when printing. Also attached pdf plot driver.

    In our IPlot "PEN" table, the syntax "midline_joint = circle" prevents spikes on text and line terminators. There's likely similar functionality in the MicroStation pen tables?

    Attached Microstation plot driver and pen table. I am not using IPLOT.

    For some reason when I opened your plt file it was empty.

    Here's the settings we use in out pdt.plt file to control spikes

    linecap = 0 ; 0=butt, 1=round, 2=square
    linejoin = 1 ; 0=mitered, 1=round, 2=bevel
    miter_limit = 1.415 ; larger values mean longer spikes; 1=none,
    1.415=90deg, 2=60deg, 10=11deg etc.

    miter_limit = 3.0 ; larger values mean longer spikes

    I am playing around with the miter_limit to see if that will help. I'm not sure if it will affect any of my linework or other elements.
    The weird thing is that XM prints fine but 2004 gives the pointed text.
    I also had a 2004 user outside of my company try the .plt and they had no problems.
