Hi
I am trying to fix a problem with plotting to an A1 plotter.
We are using Microstation V8 XM. I created a .pltcfg file for our network A1 plotter. I have located the printer and typed the path into the "Windows Defult Printer Name", (\\perfile301\PERTHO375).
This .pltcfg file works for most CAD users on the project. However several comoputers receive an error message
"unable to access system printer [\\perfile301\PERTHO375]"
"Invalid Printer Driver Configuration File"
Why does this .pltcfg file work for some of the users but not for others? What can I do to fix this problem?
It appears as though the computers that are giving the error are HP computers, where as all the DELL computers have no problem using the config file. Could this be the cause??
Thanks for replying Bear.
Yes I have tried myself logging into the machines that do not work and the same problem still occurs so I don't believe it is a user access issue. Also because they can plot to the A1 plotter outside of MS, such as PDF's etc.
One way that works for printing through Microstation is by using File - Select Windows Printer. But my Bentley Driver (.pltcfg) does not seem to work.
I, too, am receiving an error message when trying to use existing plt files. I actually receive the "Invalid printer driver configuration file" message. I was able to use one of the existing plt files that came with Microstation XM and modified it to print to our plotter. However, in comparison between this file and the existing company plt file, I can find no differences. The message details give no additional information.
I actually have a Dell machine running windows XP Pro. Microstation version is V8 XM v. 08.09.04.88.
Any help is appreciated.
