I have been adjusting some of the setting in my batchplt.spc through MS. When I start up a new .job file, the specs are pre-set somehow. How/where do I change this so that it will default to my desired specs?
When I start New, it opens with Xerox 8.5x11 spec. I want it to start with PDF spec. How can I change this? There doesn't seem to be any correlation as to how they are listed in Notepad.
Any ideas out there?
I'm not on xm for a while now, but I remember that there are are a couple of quirky things in the the config file that can govern the .spc files... one being you can set it to being only 1 file allowed, so changes change everybodies out comes.. we had that and it made batch printing unworkable for me...
so try making a copy of the default batch.spc rename the original one batchplt.orig so you dont lose it.. then try and edit the copy but dont rename it... now as there is only one working copy thats all ustn should see...
Also look in the workspace config to see if you can point to the specific batchplot spc file...

On V8 2004 I set the batchplt.spc file to read-only. I don't think that worked well for XM, I can't remember why. On XM, I also made a backup copy and a login script to copy the bak to the spc file. With the script users could either run the script or log-off and log-on to get a working copy.
I'm still searching for an answer on this issue. 90% of the time, I will be printing to PDF and the other 3 settings are not how I want it to initially display. How can I get these to show up when starting a new .job?
It seems that it worked in Notepad now....making sure it was 1st in the list.
