Georeferenced PDFs

A company has created software that enables the creation of Georeferenced PDFs with a long/lat grid embedded into the PDF. There is no plug-in or compatible product that has this ability in a Microstation environment to the best of my knowledge. Is anyone aware of a similar product that works with Microstation?

  • Hi rhample,

Maybe you are talking about TerraGo Technologies's geospatial extension to Adobe PDF file format, GeoPDF? This extension isn't supported when opening PDF files in Raster Manager.

In XM though, you can still transform (move, scale, rotate and warp) your PDF files. The transformation would be applied as long as the PDF files remained attached to the DGN.

Moreover, with Athens, you would also be able to specify the geocoding information (projection method, datum, etc...) of a PDF file and reproject it at will.

By the way, it seems that Abode is planning to add GIS supports in Acrobat 9.

    Thanks,

    Mathieu
