Hello,
I am fairly new to the Bentley software, presently using Microstation V8i SS2.
I printed to a 3d pdf by toggling the Bentley driver in the print dialog, selecting the Print to 3D, but when I open the pdf in Adobe Acrobat Pro, I do not get the 3d tool bar to allow rotating or sectioning the pdf view. Is there a toggle I am missing or some step in my workflow?
Did you toggle the 3d tick works for me with real 3d dgn rendered view
here is the result ... too
dont worry about the java script error its my antivirus thing blocking java...
your using pdf.pltcfg driver ... what version of acrobat reader are you using ? what version of mstn are you using ....?
I used v8i ss3 and acrobat X reader to view the 3d pdf?
oh BTW I had to data point inside the opened pdf file to bring up the 3d nav tools... so iy might be how your using the reader ... look at the reader help and how to set the nav tools...

Lorys,
Yes, I have the "Print to 3D" checked in the print dialog and I am using the Bentley pdf print driver. I do not see any 3d navigation tools in my version of adobe. The version we have is Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. Microstation is V8i SS2. I selected a data point inside the pdf but did not get any results. Also have looked under tools and do not see any 3d navigation tools. I gather the issue I am experiencing must be the version of Adobe we are using.

I know in the past I had issues when the reader and writer were installed and having issues with each other. I am not sure that Pro can create 3d PDF and therefore may not give you tools for 3D manipulation. You may have to use the true Reader version for that to work. I think the workaround was a setting in Pro that had PDF's opened with Reader. I also see in XI that there is a 3D Preferences tab. This may help you out some.
