Print to pdf with levels turned off in the pdf

I have some levels in my file that I want printed to my pdf, however by default I want those levels to be off in the pdf so that the user would have to manually turn them on in the pdf in order to see them.  Is this possible?

  • meanwhile  use the create a layered pdf approach  and have every thing on  that you want  shown in  the active file

and all the other levels you want the users to turn off in a different ref file and name it "turn off" but have all the levels on and then the user in the pdf can turn off all the levels by just turning off the one ref file called " turn off "by clicking on the eye icon for the ref file..

not perfect , not what you asked for but is a workable work flow to work around the lack of feature  for now...

  • I agree with Linus. We need some type switch/option for this functionality. It would be disastrous for some clients if every level was always replicated in the PDF regardless of the display state of the level.

  • The only other way to get around this is not use pdf but export to imodel ie model.idgn

And tell your client to get and  use (FREE download)  Bentley View to turn on off levels and make their own pdfs with levels on off...a selling point  to convince clients is the viewer can also  measure true lengths and coordiantes, print to paper and biggest seller of all ( after it being for  FREE) it can view and print  autocad DWG's  as well as DGN's
