I have some levels in my file that I want printed to my pdf, however by default I want those levels to be off in the pdf so that the user would have to manually turn them on in the pdf in order to see them. Is this possible?

Hello Todd, I know that this is an old discussion but I came across it and was wondering if you could give a little direction on how to accomplish this in V8i?

Enhancement request 86220 has not been implemented and I’m not aware of a workaround.
use my workaround xref the same xref twice once with levels off and once with those levels on so the ref with off and be toggle off can be used in the pdf reader... to swap the levels from off to on...via which xref is turned on or off

I would recommend using a Print Style. Starting in MicroStation V8i SS4 (might have been SS3) you can configure print styles to force levels on or off when printing, same for display of reference attachments.
If you want all of your levels available in an output PDF file create a special Print Style that forces the display of all levels on when printing.
For earlier versions of MicroStation without this option (or if you really don't like Print Styles) you can use Saved Views. Create a Saved View with all of the levels turned on. Prior to printing recall the saved view to restore the level display.
