[V8i SS3] Print Organizer won't print rasters (on my machine only)

I have set up a Print Organizer set that creates a pdf (using pdf.pltcfg).  For some reason with my PC it creates a pdf without the raster (small file size), but when the same PO set is processed on a coworker's screen, the rasters are part of the resulting pdf (large file size).  Both of us are pulling settings from a networked workspace.

I can use the same pdf.pltcfg from the standard Print dialog box, and the raster will pe printed just fine.

Any suggestions on how to get PO to print rasters from my machine?

  • There are a couple known raster printing issues from Print Organizer when other applications are installed, such as Descartes, Geopak and Inroads. Take a look at MicroStation’s ….config\appl folder. If geopak.cfg or geopak.3.0.cfg or msgeo.cfg or dcartes.cfg exists, temporarily move them out of appl, restart MicroStation, and then test Print Organizer.

  • I have all four of the cfg files you mention. If I rename them with a different extension PO works fine. How does that affect the perrformance of GEOPAK, for instance? I assume I need to rename these files back to their original extension in order for those programs to work properly, right?

Is there a fix in the works?
  • The conflict or problem is with the application’s (Descartes, Inroads, Map, GEOPAK) subsystem not working correctly in non-graphics mode. When Print Organizer prints, it starts a separate 'ustation.exe' in the background (non-graphics) to print the plot. There appears to be a problem with these applications not functioning correctly in this context. I suggest posting to the GEOPAK forum or using the GEOPAK support channels to find a solution. There is a Civil Trouble Report filed but I do not know the status of it.
