We also ran into this issue somewhat randomly. What we found was a line of dashes in the pcf that were not preceded by a # hash. once it was added back there was no issue.

I had same issue with a user. I fixed the issue by removing any %if %else %endif statement in the UCF.

We were not able to solve this problem with an update because the IT people wanted us all to use the same version. However here is where we were at.
1. I could log into any other computer on cite and had no problem.
2. Any other user here could log onto my machine and print organizer would not work for them.
3. We wiped the program and reinstalled twice with no luck.
4. Our IT guy here followed several of the suggestions and try many things and for what ever reason I still can't use print organizer.

This issue was isolated to just one box with an older version of MicroStation V8i. Unfortunately we never heard back if they were able to upgrade and if that resolved the issue. The other time I have seen this issue was related to a permissions issue, because if you ran "ustation.exe" as Admin, the second instances of MicroStation had no problems starting in the background.

Jimmy, I have a couple of questions:
1. Is everyone at your site having this issue? If so, are you using a single image to build all of your PC's?
2. Open any file with a ref. file. Open the Reference UI, select any reference file, then click Tools->Open in New Session. Does a new session of MicroStation open? If not, what type of errors or messages do you receive?
3. Run "ustation.exe" as Administrator and see if Print Organizer works?

The error indicates that the worker instance of MicroStation failed to start for one reason or another. Do you happen to use any custom command lines arguments to start MicroStation? If so, these same commands will need to be added to the MicroStation variable MS_PLT_ENGINE_CMDLINE_ARGS.

Found the error sorry not use to using all of these items.

This is the error.

the process 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\MicroStation\ustation.exe' failed to indicate readiness within the allotted time of 120 seconds

This is what is on the screen. and nothing else.

Again it acts like it is going to work other that it takes a long time with the blue circle of death and then it finishes and no file.

Jimmy, in the MicroStation Status Bar are you seeing some sort of message? If you are, can you open the MicroStation message center and look at the details of the message?
