I have a print style which creates the fence from element range, searching only for shapes, on the master model, on a specific level. My issue is that the fence is always oriented based on the unrotated view, even on a model where is the view

RE: [V8i] Print Style - Fit to Element Range Issue

Isnt this why we now use sheet models with title sheets refed in even if the view inside the title sheet is rotated the sheet border isnt ... it just like a piece of paper autocaders know this as view ports in their paper space model...

RE: [V8i] Print Style - Fit to Element Range Issue

I’m not aware of the behavior changing. I do recall an older version of V8i where by default, when using fit to element range, it would create it based on view rotation. Was this intentionally "fixed"?

RE: [V8i] Print Style - Fit to Element Range Issue

I’m not aware of a way to automatically rotate the plot based on the view rotation when using “Fit to element range”.

Creating a saved view using the plot shape and then defining the View in the Print Style may be an option.

RE: [V8i] Print Style - Fit to Element Range Issue

Unfortunately no, our spec requires everything to be bylevel.

RE: [V8i] Print Style - Fit to Element Range Issue

Can one of properties (level, color, weight, style) of the plot shape be changed to make it unique?

RE: [V8i] Print Style - Fit to Element Range Issue

Thank you for your respone. Setting the fence alignment ends up unrotating the view of the print. Define from shape does work, however we have multiple shapes on the same level, which cannot be changed due to spec, so this is not desirable.

RE: [V8i] Print Style - Fit to Element Range Issue

Try using the Fence alignment = X axis or Y axis in the Main tab of the Print Style. If it does not help, use “Define from shape” rather than “Fit to element range”. You may also need to use a Fence alignment setting with this method.
