Connect 10.0.0.25 - Print organizer only finding some of my reference files

I have hundreds of Print sets created Printing via print organizer.  I have noticed at least in one building that Print Organizer is only recognizing the Title block reference file in a couple of sheets out of 9 sheets.  I checked the properties of the reference in both the ones it found to the ones it could not find.  They seem identical.  The references are attached using a variable.

Is there a known issue with the Connect version reading references attached using variables?  Any issues with Connect finding reference files?  These work fine with V8i.  I have already reviewed other posts but did not see anything specific to this problem.

I tried to attach two PDFs.  I'm not sure they actually attached.  In one you will see the title block, the other not.

  • I also checked my print style. I am Defining the fence from a cell in a reference file. When looking at this I noticed you cannot see the entire style name and can not scroll over to the end. This is an issue since many of my print styles names are identical for the first 30 characters or so. I cannot hover over the style to see the name either. My cell is in my title block reference so not finding the reference is causing Print organizer not to find my Fence creation cell either. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Mark,

I’m not aware of known reference file issues with Print Organizer CONNECT Edition.

If MicroStation is invoked with command line arguments, the same arguments need to be used by Print Organizer’s background process. MS_PLT_ENGINE_CMDLINE_ARGS specifies custom command line arguments used by Print Organizer when invoking its background worker process. In other words, set MS_PLT_ENGINE_CMDLINE_ARGS with the same arguments used with the ustation.exe shortcut.

Also, certain print workflows may depend on the design file being writeable. If MS_PRINTORGANIZER_OPEN_DGN_READWRITE is set to 1, the Print Organizer background process opens design files in read-write mode. You can also disable “Open design file in ready-only mode” in Print Organizer > Edit > Preferences.

If necessary, private message me your contact information, we’ll work this over the phone.
