PDF created from Iplot is too big, am unable to print to an 11x17 printer

I am plotting a large plan set using Iplot.  Roughly 130+ sheets and the pdf is 48 MB.  When we open the file in Adobe acrobat, we are unable to print to a regular printer; however, I am able to send the file to our plotter with no problems.

Is there a setting somewhere that can be adjusted to make the file sizes smaller?

I have tried reducing the files in Adobe acrobat, but it does not work.

I am using a bently printer.  I have color tables and pen tables set up.  The same color tables and pen tables were previously used to create plots with no problem.

  • After further investigation of the problem, we think that something with the DGN files is causing the pdfs to get hung up when sending to a local printer. Some sheets print just fine, but there are other sheets that get hung up. Could the reference files in our Sheet DGN files cause a problem? (I noticed one of the sheets that was having hangups had an extra reference file attached). Would compressing design files help?
