I want to create a drawing with a 3D view and a title block.
When I do this I make a saved view in my 3D model that I use when placing the reference in the sheet space. Then I turn on "plot as 3D" in the reference dialog.
When I print the drawing there seems to be a 3D space that you would normally find in a 3D PDF, but it is completely empty. No geometry is shown.
I have had this problem on multiple projects and I cannot figure out what I am doint wrong. Anyone had this happen to them?

Hi Michael,
Did you use the Bentley driver: pdf.ptlcfg and selected the Print to 3D from the print dialog? Please review this wiki article https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_printing/w/wiki/plotting-3d-models-faq
also review this Wiki article as maybe the problem is caused by the camera or lenshttp://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_printing/w/wiki/14309.get-blank-3d-pdf-when-using-bentley-pdf-pltcfg-plot-driver-file

Hi Maria,
Printing works fine when printing directly from the model as you are showing above.
It is when I attach a 3D view to a sheet and turn on "plot as 3D" in the reference that I get a blank file.
You can see an image of the result below. It seems that it knows where there was supposed to be some 3D stuff, but it is not displaying it.
I read the article you attached, but I have not used a camera when setting up the view. Just a normal orthographic view and then fit view to make sure I did not have any far away elements.
Hi Michael, I found a Defect filed 496602 regarding printing to 3D PDF when attaching to the sheet model using Drawing Boundary (new) in CONNECT Edition. I believe this could be the same problem. what version are you using? Do you have the same issue in V8i? Could you please remove the Drawing boundary or attach to sheet model using drawing boundary (none) and let me know if the 3D PDF can be created then? Regard Maria
