Print Organzier will not screen my aerial back to 20% or 40% when I do the batch plotting but, when I plot each sheet individually it works fine(all 150 pages). I have messed with a couple setting in the properties box but it would change things that would not need to be changed. I have messed with the global raster image setting to screen back to what I like. I am pretty sure it is a batch plot setting somewhere I have not clicked.

Not sure what your asking , I cannot find any button or setting with "screening" there are several buttons for aerial or raster involving % 'age, 2 are contrast and brightness another is the resolution as a percentage but just for the raster it doesnt change the resolution of the vector ie lines and text...
There are a couple of things I would change if I were you.. first I would make a custom pdf.pltcfg and set all the settings I wanted in there and use it for the batch printing default driver..
your screenshot middle pane under raster options has print raster grey scale ticked this makes you raster grey instead of colour this is not "screening"...
Left panel untick rasterised, this not needed you have already set it to use transparency in the print settings which is the only reason I would use rasterised in pdfs is from the printer settings not the print dialog, it works much better quality prints this way, why ? not sure but tests with it on and off prove that we should avoid the tick rasterise.. it must make a difference with printing direct to printer with windows system printer.. but we never do this anymore we always print to pdf first then bulk print the pdfs to the printer for hard copies....saves a lot of time and no dud prints as you can preview all the pdfs first and what are you going to give your client ? pdfs right?
oops spoke too soon I just found screening under the pen table so create custom pentable and add that to you custom pdf.pltcfg and you'll have your screening as well
you have to choose raster then in output optoins you'll see the screening and a slider or % bar available... once you have set these you have to reload your printer driver and hopefully you set the path etc to use the desired pentable inside the pdf.pltcfg file so its auto loading the pentable... if you call this printer.pltcfg Something easy to recognise like
50RaSscrningPDF.plot (for 50 percent raster screening pfd)
so easy to remember what its for easier.. and share with others on your network...

I was trying to print a full set of plans that are one pdf (150 pages) and not 150 separate pages. one of the pltconfig files has this setup "CDOT-PDFHighQuality_V8i.pltcfg" but when I use it I can never get the raster image configuration to work right. But if I use the "CDOT-ROW-DefaultPrinter_V8i.pltcfg" the raster image configuration works out great but prints 150 separate pages. I used your suggestions and it worked all creating one pdf of 150 pages...
Thats great you fixed it with my suggestions but now I see your real problem is the format for the pdfs out put not to be multipage
If you use print organiser this is easy to define and it gives a preview of the outcome if you change the settings
with the single separate pages you have option to change the output names and preview
