I was wondering if there was some sort method to highlight linework at plot creation time. Doing some searching around, I found that Inga has a tool provided to her that can do this in the design(, but this would introduce other issues...namely lines over top of one another which I deem as a bad practice. Any options exist using MicroStation Print or IPlot to mimic this behavior? For an example:

If you have drawn all your work on specific level names you can use overrides and make all the line work much thicker and a yellow or any colour you havent used..
You can even do this with a pentable if you have level standards so it will always apply to specific levels to just print different ie a specific colour and weight ..
With text its much easier we just have background fill applied to a specific text style..
If you dont have a lot of lines, create a sub model self ref the default model that has the line work now create a level called filled offsets...
set your active level to that and copy parallel all you line work either side of the lines now you can turn all these into shapes or regions by closing them off and create region by flood and have a fill applied to the region dont offset too much just enough to equal a highlighter marker pen...then just ref attach this model back to the master drawing and tell it to go under or use transparency...
I just thought of an old school quick way ... place markers like crosses at the corners of the drawing ie the sheet edges and print to paper only the line work and corner crosses
now put a piece of tracing paper not the yellow kind , or try film or grease proof lunch wrap paper yes the super market still has this...
now trace first the corner markers use a ruler these have to be very accurate make sure you tape down everything first, now trace over your lines with a big fat coloured fluorescent marker ( not fluorescent yellow photocopiers deliberately exclude fluorescent yellow ).
Next step take the tracing it to your photocopier and scan highres colour the traceing, ref attach the raster of the scanned tracing you can use the 4 corner marks to warp the raster to the original cad crosses and clip the raster so you cant see the crosses and put transparencey on the raster and it will act like you have your halo effect..
Good job for new grad or junior or if you have your kids come to work day !
I love the old school methods hey you do what you have to if time is tight
