Print Organizer Printer Setup/Printer Driver Save

Hello, I know for the print organizer we are able to save the Pen Tables we are using per file, what I would like to also be able to do is save the Printer Driver per file as well.

For example I print my plan sheets using a color driver (.pltcfg) and I print my cross section sheets with a non color driver. Is there a way to save the driver per sheet?

Thank you

  • I don't agree .with Albert John regarding windows printers and his belief that most users prefer Brother printers ... we print to pdfs using mstn and print functions  in bulk like Print Organiser or Batchplot or custom VBA but its almost always to pdf and often a combined pdf of multipages… It is this pdf that gets sent to printers and plotters and Brother doesn't make the best plotters …IMHO and experience  OCE and Hp followed by Epson and Canon make the best plotters.. and as  for Colour  Laser  with office volumes and A3   IMHO and experience Xerox , Minolta, Canon  are the top 3 for reliability colour accuracy and speed...

As to PO were are still forced to do separate psets  by requirements of outputs, and as  for sheet numbering  I'm still using tags and VBA > excel to keep tag data current as they aren't reliant on the PO text substitution

  • What I would do is have one .pltcfg for the device (pdf in my case) and then have the pen table (,dscript) handle the colors/be switching based on some naming convention for the dgn.

  • Why not just have a color print driver then when you need to print B&W you can go to the Advanced Tab in the print definition & set the Color Mode to Monochrome. No need to maintain a separate B&W driver.
